Deep in the Heart Film Festival

Call for Entries Deadline: May 31, 2017
Official Website: http://www.deepintheheartff.com/

The Deep in the Heart Film Festival seeks to showcase the best in independent features and short films from Texas, the US, and the world. The festival wants to inspire filmmakers, create networking and show their guests some Texas hospitality in Waco.

The fest debuted in 2017 with tremendous success! They sold out screenings, had over 1000 in attendance over the festival, and gave away over $1000 in prizes. Now, they are looking to build on that for 2018!

The festival proudly screens at the Waco Hippodrome, a former vaudeville theater that’s over a century old. The Hippodrome is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and has seen Elvis Presley and John Wayne enter its doors. Always a Waco tradition, the Hippodrome has been reborn as a central Texas destination – now with recent renovations in seating, projection, and the addition of full kitchen and bar.

ADDED BONUS: if you’re a fan of the HGTV show Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Market is located just steps away from the Hippodrome. Plus, Waco’s the home to Dr Pepper and Balcones Distilling.

The festival is easily within driving distance of Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and Houston.
