Rules & Regulations

All short films submitted may not exceed 5 minutes in length and 75 MB.

You need to be either attending a College or High School or your film had to have been made during that time.

If you are mailing in your submission you need to affix a label to your mail-in submission with your name, address & phone number, film title, and film length clearly written or typed.

We prefer the film in English or have English subtitles.

Once the short film has been submitted we do not accept substitutions or new versions. Only if you win can you substitute for a new cut before we premiere the short at screening.

studentfilmmakers.com does not exploit children or animals.

studentfilmmakers.com does not accept content that infringes upon the copyrights or other rights of the author or owner.

All entries will be shown at studentfilmmakers.com and chimeralighting.com websites and future screening.

Important Guidelines

Studentfilmmakers.com selects the film to broadcast online based on its creativity and technique, not upon its genre. Drama, Comedy, Animation, Documentary, Narrative - all are welcome. Films which contain material that are considered pornographic will not be accepted.
We accept film/video submissions via
--1. online - must provide the url to the movie file, not the web site.
--2. an Internet compatible file, such as avi, mpeg, mp4, rm, wmv or mov(Quicktime) file formats. studentfilmmakers.com will provide FTP to upload file once the submission is received.
--3. mail - send in your CD-R (no VHS, DVD for preview, add $20 for mini DV conversion)

Terms of Agreement

Any and all filmmakers applying to the non-paying showcase at studentfilmmakers.com are subject to the following terms. By submitting your application via our online form, you agree to these Terms of Agreement. studentfilmmakers.com declines all responsibility of any infringement of these Terms and cannot be held liable for any damage or misinformation related by these filmmakers. studentfilmmakers.com will do its best to remove any inappropriate material as soon as possible.

You agree that any film you submit is not plagiarized, stolen, or copied from anybody else.

You agree that any film you submit will be shown at studentfilmmakers.com and chimeralighting.com websites and future screening. studentfilmmakers.com may use your film on promotion media.

studentfilmmakers.com reserves the right at any time without prior notice to delete your film for any reason.

You agree to showcase your films that are user-friendly, non-erotic and sensible.

You will not use inappropriate language.

In the event that these Terms of Agreement are violated in any way, studentfilmmakers.com will remove the offending material.
